Quai du Vin Winery
The Quai Du Vine Winery is a beautiful and quaint little winery about a 10 minute drive from St. Thomas. With its rolling vineyards and lush green lawns, it is a popular destination for weddings and special events of all kinds. We chose it for the location of this beautiful editorial photoshoot. The ceremony site was set up in front of the winery's beautiful pergola which is beautifully framed in front of one of their lush vineyards. Keeping the colour scheme simple to take advantage of the natural beauty surrounding us, we used lots of sheer fine french netting draped from the front of pergola to create a stunning backdrop and also draped down the isles on our sheppards hooks. Garlands of boxwood and fern graced the top of the pergola with stunning floral pieces of silver dollar and seeded eucalyptus,
Italian rucus and coffee leaf combined with white garden and climbing roses to frame the backdrop and isles. Our weathered wine barrels flanked the front with stunning gold earns and mercury glass tealights echoing the same flowers used elsewhere in the ceremony.
The invitations and stationary created by Tamara of Quaint Paper Co. captured the look of the greenery and loose organic feel of the event.. Her hand painted, water colour and brush script perfectly embodied the essence of the winery.
Hair and makeup by Erica of Selah Vie Hair and Makeup Artistry combined the red lip and striking cat eye liner of vintage Hollywood movie stars. With loose waves and hair pulled back behind one ear of the model, Erica created the vibe of pure class.
The dress from Once Upon a Time Weddings in Strathroy, was a beautiful combination of fine french netting and skillful ruching that flatters the figure of whoever wears it. Classic gold drop earrings from Selah Vie Designs completed the simple, yet understated elegance of the look.
The head table was set up on the Quai du Vin patio surrounded by their lush ivy covered walls and enclosed with a beautiful pergola overhead. Again, keeping the colours simple, focusing on white, gold and green, we set the table with a matte white table cloth and a gold sequin runner down the centre. Our vintage gold chargers sat underneath our gold and white china. The bride and grooms places were set with our popular vintage china in the
Sonata pattern. Our vintage gold flatware framed the place settings and our simple classic glassware finished the look. Down the centre of the table ran a garland of Boxwood Fern and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus. Our vintage brass candlesticks and our gold candelabras added a romantic ambience. The centre piece was a beautiful unstructured piece echoing the same florals used in the ceremony, with the addition of the Hanging Amaranthus. The backdrop was our sheer french netting.
In lieu of the traditional wedding cake, we favoured a pie bar celebrating seasonal fruits set on top of our vintage brass cake pedestals and surrounded by our delectable pie tarts and a variety of scrumptious donuts. The pie bar was graciously set on top of our antique oak sideboard. To accompany the dessert, we set up our antique tea cart with our embassy tea set.
To finish the evening, our stunning model took a stroll through the beautiful vineyards and finished with an after dinner wine and cheese board on our oak wine barrel, with a delicious Cabernet Franc from the Quai Du Vine Winery.
