Flowers in coral, fuchsia, cream, orange and blush set the tone for a romantic but festive day. Inspired by the colours of late summer tree fruit, Hanna Lafferty, owner of Selah Vie Weddings & Events, designed the pallet to look like a luscious fruit basket. The alter was a cedar garden arbour, draped with lace curtains that blew in the breeze. With copious amounts of roses, hydrangeas, poppies, and orchids framing the structure.
Shepard's hooks with hanging antique mason jars lined the aisles, holding hydrangea and roses with amaranthus draping over the side. Rustic vineyard chairs created a welcoming place for guests to sit.
The bride carried a bouquet packed full of pink, blush and coral roses, bright red poppies, burnt orange ranunculus, and mango coloured orchids. Her dress from Once Upon A Time Weddings in Strathroy was a picture of beautifully draped french netting in a simple strapless, sweat heart, a-line silhouette. Her hair by Hanna Lafferty of Selah Vie Hair & Makeup Artistry was pulled back in a loose curly mermaid braid with a vintage pearl and rhinestone head piece. Her makeup, also by Hanna, brought together a flattering combination of matte neutral tones in the soft smokey eye, paired with long lashes and a matte coral lip.
The table was set with matte peach linen overlayed with cream lace, the places were set with the ever popular Sonata vintage china pattern, cut crystal goblets and vintage gold flatwear. Down the centre of the table in rustic wooden boxes were placed the distinctive blooms that were characteristic of the day. Between the flowers were boxes of fresh peaches, plums and apricots reflecting the colour pallet of the day. The stunning stationary suite provided by Sandra from Love on Paper CO, captured the essence of the overall theme of the day. Custom designed menus sat on top of the beautiful china to perfectly top off the table.
The cakes from Stephanie of Bright Eyes Cakes combined the timeless elegance of ribbed buttercream frosting upon a multi tiered trio of confectionery goodness. The same blooms used elsewhere in the day were perfectly poised on top of the cakes to bring out the elegant simplicity of the designs. The cakes were placed on top of crystal cake platters that sat on top of a vintage woman's dresser in a subtle grey wash with flowers, greenery and hanging amaranthus flowing out of the top drawer. For a special moment later in the day, a picnic blanket was set in a private area for a fun and intimate tea time to end the day.
